2012 Combined Class Reunion Celebration Planning Underway

In early October alumni director Louis J. Fabro ’83 sent
survey letters to all those celebrating reunions this year.

The 2011 Combined Class Reunion Celebration to be held August 9-11, 2012 for the Classes of 1962 (Golden), 1967, 1972, 1977, 1981, 1986 (Silver), 1991, 1996, and 2001.

The role of the survey letter was to identify those who would like
to volunteer to be a part of their reunion planning committee and which weekend activities they would like to see organized. Volunteers play a vital role in making the weekend event a success! Besides preparing a golf outing or formal dinner,
volunteers help to directly contact classmates during the
planning cycle. This personal one-to one/classmate-to
-classmate dynamic is THE KEY to a good turnout. If you
have not received a survey letter and would like to volunteer
your help please contact Louis by e-mail at lfabro@cdeducation.org  or by phone at 614-252-9288 ext. 21.

Louis will organize a general meeting for all class reunion organizational committee members in December.

Tentative Plans for the 2012 Summer Reunion Celebration include:
On Thurs., August 9, members of the Classes of 1962 and 1967 are invited to participate in the 6th annual St. Charles-Aquinas College High School Golf Challenge at Riviera C.C. in Dublin.

The weekend’s Main Event will take place on Friday night: The All-Classes Stag “Beer-n-Brats” campus gathering from 6:00 - 11:00 p.m. in the Robert C. Walter Student Commons. Class photos will be taken, Principal Dominic J. Cavello ’64 will give a “State of the School” update and campus tours will be provided.

On Saturday there will be a morning bike ride offered along the Alum Creek Bike Trail and alumni of all ages will be invited to play in the 3rd annual Ralston Memorial Golf Outing. A campus tour will be held from 2:15-3:45 and an All-Classes Mass will be held in Mother of Mercy Chapel at 4:00 p.m. for alumni & spouses/guests. Classes organize their own private activities around these collective events. This allows several formal and informal opportunities to meet with your to reminisce about special teachers, deceased friends, and the athletic and academic challenges you overcame together as classmates.

Contact Louis at lfabro@cdeducation.org to join your class’ reunion committee of to answer any questions you might have.

St. Charles Class Reunions - 2011
Combined Class Reunion Celebration Weekend
 Aug. 12-13, 2011

The time is drawing near to gather with classmates to celebrate your St. Charles class reunion.
The school has designated the weekend of August 12 & 13 for the 2011 Combined Class Reunion Celebration for the classes of 1961, 1966, 1971, 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006.

Here is a rundown of the weekend activities:

Friday Night, August 12 -- The school will host the weekend’s Main Event, an All-Classes “Beer-n-Brats” campus gathering from 6:00 -11:00 p.m. The event is STAG - No wives or significant others please! During the evening a campus tour will be offered, a Class Group photo ($17) will be taken and Principal Dominic J. Cavello ’64 will present a “State of the School” update. The $15 cost will cover all
food (brats, burgers and assorted picnic food items) and drinks for the evening.

Saturday Morning, August 13 -- No class has organized its own formal golf event for the weekend, so interested golfers are invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Dick Ralston Memorial Golf Tournament at Foxfire in Groveport. Registration starts at 7 a.m.; shotgun start at 8 a.m.; Cost is $75 a person or $270 a foursome and includes a continental breakfast at the course. The course has set a July 29 deadline for registrations. The event is expected to fill quickly so get your money in ASAP. Only paid entries are being accepted. Please contact Rick Ralston ’75 (rickralston@hotmail.com   - 614-580-0399) DIRECTLY to sign up. Checks should be made out to “The Dick Ralston Memorial Tournament” and mailed to:  178 Farm Creek Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. Every attempt will be made to pair St. Charles alumni within their class.

If you’re not a golfer…also happening Saturday morning: A family cycling excursion.
St. Charles alumni John ’59 and David ’84 Hohmann and Stephen Schneider ’81 will be leading the “3rd annual” family-friendly recreational community bike ride along the Bexley Bike Trail in conjunction with The Friends of Alum Creek and Tributaries. Alumni families and community members will all meet at 9:00 a.m. at St. Charles in the south parking lot (closest to Broad Street). The ride will go 9:15 – Noon and included a stop-over at the Bexley Farmer’s Market on Main St. for some ice cream! If you plan to participate please make sure to mark it on your Reservation Form. If you have questions or need to borrow a bike for that morning, contact alumni director Louis J. Fabro ’83 at lfabro@cdeducation.org   or 614-252-9288 ext. 21.

On Saturday afternoon we encourage you to gather with your spouse/guest at St. Charles for a reunion celebration program that begins with a 3:30 p.m. campus tour which will originate from the stage of the Robert C. Walter Student Commons. There alumni can see their very own class roster, alongside those of all the other past graduating classes, in etched glass and mounted to one of the beautiful cherry-wrapped columns. We know that you will feel a tremendous amount of pride when touring the campus, hearing about the successes of current students, and reminiscing with friends on the special time you spent here.

We will celebrate an All-Classes Reunion Mass in Mother of Mercy Chapel at 5:00 p.m.
