Welcome to St. Charles Athletics
At. St. Charles, education extends outside of the classroom door.
Studies show that students who participate in athletics and other
co-curricular activities have higher grade point averages, better
attendance, lower dropout rates, fewer disciplinary problems,
higher graduation
rates, and better success in college than non-participants. The
school’s interscholastic athletic program and intramural
sports provide carefully supervised competition in games, sports
and other physical activities, for the rank and file of the student
body. Through these teams, along with the regular physical education
classes, every student has the chance to become more fit and to
enjoy the benefits of competitive athletics.
Student-athletes at St. Charles devote great time and effort
into achieving their athletic goals, but never at the expense
of their academic pursuits. They learn important lessons in teamwork,
self-discipline, leadership and sportsmanship while maintaining
their academic standing.
St. Charles is a charter member of the Central Catholic League,
a highly-competitive high school athletic conference in the central
Ohio area. Maximum participation is the basic priority, and thus
the school fields thirteen interscholastic sports: baseball, basketball,
cross-country, football, golf, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, swimming,
tennis, track, volleyball and wrestling. Since two or three levels
of competition are available in all these sports, high involvement
is possible at each grade.
