St. Charles to honor GRADUATES who have and continue to “Serve and Protect” Us on 9/7

St. Charles is asking all members of Carolian Community for their help”

Please help us identify any ALUMNI family members or ALUMNI classmates who are presently or have served in any of the following: the five branches of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard), as a police officer/in law enforcement, as a firefighter and/or EMS personnel. This includes ALUMNI both living and deceased and stretching from the first graduating class in 1927 up through to present day 2017.

So…are you GRADUATE who has served in one of these roles? Has/does your ALUMNUS father, grandfather or son served in one of these professions or a military veteran? Do you know of a FELLOW SC CLASSMATE who has served in the Armed Forces, a police officer, on a city’s firefighting force or with EMS? If so, please send your/their names and what information you have on their service to alumni director Louis J. Fabro ’83 at lfabro@cdeducation.org. You may also leave him a message at 614-252-9288 ext. 21 with news of anyone we should include on our list.

Why are we collecting these names? For two reasons:

First, we are working on the design and production of a permanent memorial to be located in the school’s main hallway. Our goal is that on this display are the names of ALL those Loyal Carolians, by class year and area of service “Who Have Served to Protect Us.”

Secondly, we will be reaching out to each one of these men to invite them back to campus on Thursday, September 7th. On this special date, the entire student body and staff will be on hand to recognize and honor these men for their service to our country and community. The celebration will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium and feature keynote speaker, Major Dan Rooney, a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot and the founder of The Folds of Honor Foundation. Major Rooney is sure to provide an inspirational message of faith, family and service to all those in attendance. Afterward, there will be a reception for all of our graduates in attendance.

Later that night Major Rooney will speak to a gathering of over 600 guests in the Robert C. Walter Commons: the annual “An Evening With…” gala, initiated by alumnus Bob Walter ’63 and his wife, Peggy.

Once again, please respond with names and information or all past/present alumni who are serving/have served in one of these “military and “first responder” roles. We don’t want anyone left out! Send that information to Alumni and Communications Director,  Louis J. Fabro ’83 at lfabro@cdeducation.org or call his office at 614-252-9288.

Thank you for your help… and Thank You to our Heroes!
