Does your son or daughter have an interest in learning a computer programming language? The Robotics Team will be offering two classes aimed at teaching students basic and more advanced programming languages and concepts.
–The first class, Programming Boot Camp, is aimed at students entering 6th through 11th grade who have little or no programming experience. The camp will be a hands-on lab to introduce the concepts of computer programming. Students will learn these concepts by creating and modifying two-dimensional video games. The camp will use Visual Basic as its core language. All computer equipment and software will be provided.
Cost is $200 per person and will be limited to the first 20 students to enroll. The course will run Monday, July 17 through Friday, July 21 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Charles.
–The second class, JAVA Programming, is aimed at students entering 8th through 12th grade who have a basic understanding of computers and computer languages. This course will focus on object oriented case structures and will be operated much like a standard high school course. Students will be provided an overview of object oriented programming and be given programming tasks to be accomplished. All computer equipment and software will be provided.
Cost is $200 per person and will be limited to the first 20 students to enroll. The course will run Monday, July 17 through Friday, July 21 from 12:00 until 3:00 p.m. at St. Charles.
