2017 Golf Outing at Clover Valley G.C. in the Books

Golfers faced unseasonable warm temperatures and a blazing sun at this year’s St. Charles Alumni Golf Outing on September 24th at Clover Valley Golf Club in Johnstown. Our thanks to our hosts, St. Charles parents and course owners, Larry and Christi Canini. The shotgun scramble event included the round of golf, a cart, prizes, cold refreshments, an SC metal license plate frame and a picnic dinner.

Congratulations to our top-finishing teams. First place (top photo below) went to the foursome of Matt Klingler ’03, Andrew Mackessy ’07, Eric O’Brien ’03 and Kyle Barger ’03 a score of 13 under-par. Winners each took home Fr. Bennett and Dominic Cavello Bobbleheads, an SC golf towel, an SC baseball hat and some cash. Just one shot back were two groups: Matt Gutman, Mike Castrodale, Rick Thomas ’85 and Dave Zehala; and Mike Stevenson ’90, Matt Tonti ’90, Hiroshi Takasukaki and Joe Szymanski ’90. There were also three “skill-prizes given out. Tom Whitlach had the “Longest Drive,” Hiroshi Takasukaki made the “Longest Putt,” and Marcus Whitehead ’91 had the shot that was “Closest to the Pin.”
