Alumni Golf Outing Had a Wild Time at Safari GC on 9/23

Brisk and sunny weather greeted players at Safari Golf Club in Powell on Sunday, September 23rd, as the St. Charles Alumni Association hosted the school’s annual Alumni Golf Outing. There were 14 foursomes on hand for the scramble event that went off at 1:30 p.m. Several hours later, players were enjoying a hamburger and bratwurst buffet served with cole slaw, pasta salad, lemonade and ice tea and chocolate chip cookies. After dinner, Principal Jim Lower gave an update of the school year and showed an exciting video featuring a ‘walk-through’ (artistic rendering) of the new facilities to be built as part of “The Vision for the Future” fundraising campaign.

Congratulations to our top-finishing teams. First place went to the foursome of Matt Keyes, Kelly Mullins ’92, Andy Maciejewski ’92 and Chris Reyes ’92 with a score of 12 under-par. There were also three “skill-prizes presented: Mike Altomare ’15 had the “Longest Drive,” Kelly Mullins ’92 made the “Longest Putt” and Chris Pappa ’07 had the shot that was “Closest to the Pin.”
