“An INSPIRATIONAL Evening With…Tim Tebow”

On Tuesday, September 3rd, St. Charles Preparatory School was proud to host its annual “An Evening with …” speaker series which this year featured Tim Tebow. Nearly 800 people were in attendance and the evening raised $750,000 for financial aid for qualified students and families.

The event included a VIP reception in Holy Angels Library followed by a cocktail reception and dinner in the school’s Robert C. Walter Student Commons.

Mr. Tebow shared his upbeat message that every person has true worth and significance and the God of our Universe has a special plan for each and every one of us. He also urged the evening’s guests to join him in sharing their blessings so that together we can “change the world.”

The following morning, Mr. Tebow returned to the school campus to address the student body. “You all have something special to accomplish,” he told them, “so don’t let anyone tell you that ‘you can’t,’ ‘you won’t’ or ‘you shouldn’t.’ Most of the people who will try that will do so because they ‘hadn’t,’’ they couldn’t’ or ‘they wouldn’t.’ I believe in you because I believe God believes in you. You matter to me and you matter to him.”

Tebow is a two-time national college football champion, first round NFL draft pick,Heisman Trophy winner and college football analyst. He grew up the son of missionaries and has devoted his life to spreading God’s word and doing the Lord’s work by serving the needy. In 2010, his vision took shape in The Tim Tebow Foundation which was established to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need.

The “An Evening With…” series was initiated through the generosity and vision of Peggy and Bob Walter ’63 five years ago and has generated more than $3.4 million dollars. Past keynote speakers have included Wall Street icon, Peter Lynch, college broadcaster and sports broadcaster, Dick Vitale, military hero and patriot, Major Dan Rooney, and most recently, author and philanthropist, Wes Moore.
