Our thanks to all those graduates who attended Friday’s Tailgate and Saturday’s Tours, Mass and STAG Beer-N-Brats Celebration.
The weekend’s Combined All-Classes Reunion was expanded this year to include those classes who were unable to celebrate last year due to the pandemic. Altogether, they included the classes of 1950, 1951, 1955, 1956, 1960, 1961, 1965, 1966, 1970, 1971, 1975, 1976, 1980, 1981, 1985, 1986, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2015 & 2016.
On Friday, reunion Alumni and their significant others were invited to attend the Cardinal Kickoff Tailgate from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto before the Cardinals played Youngstown Chaney at Walt Plank Field. They received complimentary tickets to attend the game and encouraged to hold a private class gathering after the game at a bar or restaurant of their choice. Saturday’s activities included tours of Main, West & Robotics/Mentoring Campuses (3:00 p.m.), Mass in Mother of Mercy Chapel (4:30 p.m.) and the STAG ‘Beer-N-Brats’ Night in Walter Commons (6:00 – 11:00 p.m.).
We have many people to thank for making the weekend so enjoyable:
Fr. Homer Blubaugh ’60 for serving as our Mass Celebrant and Deacons Don Poirier ’70 and Frank Iannarino ’71 assisted with teh liturgy;
St. Charles’ Dean of Students, Rick Ey ’94 gave the “State of the School” presentation and 1991 graduate, Chris Roscoe, shared with alumni how to purchase a special “SC Crest” license plate for their automobiles;
1986 alumnus, Lee Hanna, brought and shared a treasure trove of hundreds of photos that he’s scanned from the school’s official archives as well as cabinets full of old yearbook pics. Chris Cavello ’91 and Chuck Destefani ’86 provided him invaluable technical support throughout the evening;
Thanks also to Dan Tarpy (St. Charles Development Officer, SC Dad and the school’s finest ambassador) for leading tours and visiting with alumni at all the weekend activities;
Finally, thanks to all those who attended…from all across the USA!
Hail Alma Mater Dear, Loyal Carolians Here!
