Kyle begins his 22nd year of coaching at St. Charles, and his 10th year as head coach. Kyle was the head coach from 2002-2009 and returned to this role in 2021. Kyle led St. Charles to a state championship in 2008, and state runner-up finishes in 2006, 2007 and 2009.  He was named the 2006 and 2008 Ohio Men’s High School Swim Coach of the Year, and was voted the 2006, 2007, 2008, & 2009 Central District Men’s Swim Coach of the Year.  
Kyle grew up in Clintonville. He is a 1995 graduate of St. Charles, where he swam and played water polo. He swam for Indiana University and graduated with a double-major in 1999. He received his J.D. from Capital University Law School in 2000. Kyle is most likely the only swim coach in the world who has also been a deputy sheriff and an attorney. He lives in Worthington with his wife, Jamee, his daughter, Abigail, and his son, Carter. 

Kyle is also the head coach and owner of Central Ohio Aquatics, where he was named the 2022 Ohio Swimming Small-Team Coach of the Year. He has placed three swimmers on the World 100 Team (ranked top 100 in the world), and has coached three swimmers at the Olympic Trials. He served as the Treasurer for Ohio Swimming (2013-2016) and currently serves as its Technical Planning Chair.
