Platinum Reunion Held May 9th for Golden+ Grads
After a three-year hiatus, the school welcomed back its senior graduates and family members to the annual Platinum Reunion on May 9th. More than 60 people attended the day's activities, which included Mass, lunch, a tour of the Frank E. Murphy '54 Convocation Center, and a "State-of-the-School" presentation.
This special gathering which is open to all former students and graduates who attended St. Charles Preparatory School and The College and Seminary of St. Charles Borromeo more than 50 years ago (before 1973).
Mass was held at 11 a.m. in the Mother of Mercy Chapel, with five grad-priests celebrating Mass together. They included Msgr. James Walter ’54 (Main Celebrant and Homilist), Fr. Charlie Klinger ’61, Msgr. Bill Dunn ’57, Fr. Peter Gideon ’67, and Fr. Bill Arnold ’70. Deacons Don Poirier ’70 and Frank Iannarino ’71 assisted and sophomore John Orenchuk served as the organist.
Lunch was catered by Berwick Manor in the Campus Theatre's Cavello Center. Advancement Director Jaime Lawler shared news about the school and the special activities which will lead up to the celebration of the school’s 100th Birthday on November 4, 2023.
It was a joy having so many former students back on campus, especially Mr. Bob Bighouse, a 1946 graduate visiting from his home in Texas, and Mr. Phil Hall, Class of 1947, from Columbus.
