The 2023-2024 St. Charles school year is here – welcome back! We could not be more excited to see our most seasoned Cardinals walking the halls every day.

We have an outstanding group of seniors that attended our college application boot camp earlier this month. They concluded the week by meeting one-on-one with admissions representatives from coast-to-coast to review their Common Application essay draft. Valuable time was spent with the representatives and these seniors should be just about done with the primary section of their applications.

Speaking of essays, two very well-known institutions, the University of Virginia, and the University of Rochester, wrote outstanding articles on writing strong college application essays, and we wanted to share them with you! The University of Virginia’s UVA Magazine, How to Write Your Way into UVA and the University of Rochester’s News Center, How to write you best college application essay. Take some time to read these and further craft your essays.

Many, many deadlines from colleges are on the horizon, which can cause stress. The college counseling office is here to guide and support you throughout this process. We even have after school essay review days on Mondays and Wednesdays in the fall starting in September. Please stop by to chat or schedule an appointment with your counselor (find ‘schedule a time’ under your counselor’s photo). If you do not see a time that works, please e-mail your counselor.
