  • How An Evening With... Was Born

Through the vision of 1963 alumnus Bob Walter and his wife, Peggy, St. Charles Preparatory School introduced “An Evening With…”, with the goal of featuring intriguing speakers and thought provoking topics, while also raising funds to provide tuition assistance to St. Charles students in need.

The annual event has welcomed distinguished presenters such as Wall Street icon, Peter Lynch; sports broadcaster, Dick Vitale; military hero and patriot, Major Dan Rooney; U.S. Army veteran, CEO of the Robin Hood Foundation and Governor, Wes Moore; former football star and Christian missionary, Tim Tebow; Nicholas James Vujicic, a motivational speaker born with a rare disorder characterized by the absence of all four limbs; Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, Founder and CEO of Mary’s Meals, providing life-changing meals to the world’s poorest children; His Eminence Cardinal Timothy Dolan, who currently serves as a member of the Dicastery for Evangelization and participated in the Conclave that elected Pope Francis.

Because of the generosity and commitment from our St. Charles families and benefactors, our "An Evening With ... " speaker series has grown significantly since 2015, building an endowment that every year, provides over $2 million in tuition assistance to
    St. Charles students in need.
