Engineering Teams Qualify for National Competition

Three St. Charles Engineering Teams qualified for the 2023 National TEAM+S (Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, & Science) Competition in Louisville, Kentucky in June.
The teams are: Team A (Alnuel Barnum ’23, Owen Galvin ’23, Evan Sage ’23, Liam Chiarotto-Haney ’23), Team E (photo right, middle)(Malcolm D'Souza ‘24, Andrew Miller ‘24, Mladen Tague ‘24, and Luke Klingele ‘24), and Team B (John Castellano ’23, Warren D'Souza ‘23, Connor Nicholas ’23, Beckham Parsons ’23).
In all, 11 SC teams took part in the contest which consisted of three separate sections: an essay, a multiple-choice test, and design/build. All three scored among the top 20% of all teams nationally in the one-day state TEAMS competitions in February and March. Over 700 teams from 44 states participated.
Team A finished 4th in the State of Ohio based on its overall combined score. The team also scored 1st Place in Ohio on the test’s “design/build” section…just 0.02 points behind the National Winner.
