114 Carolians Added to Alumni Ranks, Earned $33.13 Million in Scholarships!
Congratulation to members of the St. Charles Preparatory School Class of 2023! They celebrated their Baccalaureate Mass and received their diplomas on Friday, May 26th in the Walter Student Commons.
Their accomplishments include:
114 students, 100% will go on to college.
Dollar amount of scholarships earned: $33.12 million.
Our graduates will attend 54 different colleges all over the country, including one who plans to enter the seminary. 99% will attend four-year colleges and 1% will attend two-year colleges.
Five seniors became National Merit Finalists and six were National Merit Commended Scholars. This means that 11% of the Class of 2023 was a recognized scholar by National Merit/College Board.
Seth Pettis, who received an appointment to both the U.S. Naval Academy and the Coast Guard Academy, will attend the Coast Guard Academy;
Corbin Robinson was accepted to both Harvard University and Yale University. He has chosen to attend Harvard, which only had a 3% admission rate this year;
Sam Martin was awarded The Chick Evans Scholarship for Caddies to The Ohio State University;
Thomas Matthews earned a National Merit Scholarship to attend the University of
Alabama;
Connor Nicholas received one of only 18 Gabelli Presidential Scholarships offered to incoming first-year students at Boston College;
Derek Lyons and Nahom Tewolde earned The Darwin T. Turner Scholarship from the University of Cincinnati;
Evan Rayburn and Aidan Silva won The Morrill Scholarship to The Ohio State University.
