St. Mary of the Springs Academy Hosts Final Alumnae Luncheon

On April 25, more than 100 alumnae gathered at the Spangler Learning Center at Ohio Domincan University -- the campus that once was SMA's home.

The day's formal program included a "Welcome" by Alumnae Association President, Katy Ryan Paolini ’61, who introduced fellow board members and officers  Rose Tonti Deffet ’55 (Vice President Dr. Patricia Ryan ‘63 (Treasurer), Linda Cianelli Younkin ’63 (Recording Secretary), Margaret Fauth ’48 (Corresponding Secretary), Barbara Fernandez Murphy ’61 (Advisor) , and Sr. Carolyn Thurn ’55 (Moderator).

Following the Invocation by Sr. Carolyn, Julie O’Keefe McGhee ‘56, shared stories about the school and its history with the group. After lunch, the special reunion Classes of 1951, 1956, 1961, and 1966 were recognized.

After closing remarks, the group closed out the luncheon by signing the school' Alma Mater: HAIL TO ST. MARY’S. 
As ladies made their way back across campus to their cars, they were invited to take a stroll through Erskine Hall and reminisce about those "good 'ol days."

Two alumnae were honored with the Association's highest honor, the Erskine Awards which were were presented to Sr. Sally Duffy, SC (Class of 1967) and Linda Cianelli Younkin (Class of 1963). Congratulations and thanks to you and all former Erskine honorees for your service to St. Mary of the Springs Academy and her former students!
